World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE Damage.
If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will gain 3% of its previous damage for each time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them; the item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as other items that are not ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the item to the upgrade (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level using standard methods.
A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
The player can have up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will drop in the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even when they're not sure how much it can be improved upon a reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly, and there is a high risk that the item may be obsolete or even break if it fails. item upgrading failed upgrade will ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible to level 15.
You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a stat by. The value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
When you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.
Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in strategic spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When the player improves the equipment they have it will be replaced by an item that is new. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set of bonuses. This could be a problem because it can make the item more expensive if you do not require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a completely different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good idea, but shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like dolphins). This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The upgrader for items allows players to raise the level of their equipment (armor weapons, armor, and trinkets) above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each each time you upgrade an item, it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to return to its original condition which means that the player has to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will be deducted any gained bonuses such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items could require different upgrades than normal equipment. For example, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the expenses mentioned above.
